St Andrews Golfer Transport

St Andrews Airport Transfers

With its world-class university (students get St Andrews golf privileges), a storied history and an abundance of charming pubs, this town is all about golf. But golf isn’t cheap in St Andrews.

Pre-booked tee times at the Old Course are sold out through 2023. However, it is possible to make the most of your visit by focusing on value.

Arrival Transfers from Edinburgh

Whether you are arriving at Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dundee Airport a professional driver will meet you in the arrivals area and assist you with your luggage. The fleet of vehicles is varied and includes both people carriers and luxury cars.

Once you have arrived at your hotel a dedicated vehicle will be on hand to transport you from the golf courses back to your accommodation throughout the day and in the evening if required. The vehicles are fitted with high speed WiFi connectivity so you can stay in touch with family and friends back home if you wish.

During the high season of 2023 there is a free shuttle bus service running between the Links and Eden Clubhouses, The Old Pavilion (by the first tee) and St Andrews Links Golf Academy. This service is very frequent and a great way to get around without the need for a car. A full timetable can be found here.

Transfers to and from the Courses

St Andrews is known as the ‘Home of Golf’ and is home to 7 courses including the Old Course. Kingsbarns, Fairmont St Andrews and Castle course are all within easy reach too with plenty of other great courses flying under the radar due to the Old Course’s long shadow.

Golfers should check in at the Old Pavilion adjacent to the 1st tee if they are playing the Old. Here they can enjoy changing facilities, showers and toilets as well as a restaurant and bar. A shuttle buggy will then take golfers to the 1st tee.

For a great value golfing experience, base your itinerary around the St Andrews Links Trust 3- or 7-day ticket. This affords unlimited golf on six of the seven courses (excluding the Old) with space-available replays if needed. Alternatively, head further into Fife and you can play Crail’s picturesque Balcomie Links or Craighead Links – a modern Gil Hanse design with seaside holes and incredible views.

Short Breaks

There's more to St Andrews than just the Old Course, of course. The coastal town offers spectacular beaches, striking castle & cathedral ruins and an array of charming shops and cafes.

A trip to St Andrews can also be enhanced by playing some of the other courses in Fife, including the world famous Kingsbarns 7 miles away. In addition, there are six other courses operated by the Links Trust besides the Old Course; New Course, Jubilee Course, Castle Course, Eden Course, Strathtyrum Course and Balgove Course.
